Before you start

• Ensure that the machinery used to lift the unit is appropriate for the weight and location, and that you comply with all applicable local regulations when lifting, securing, and transporting the unit. Refer to the E-Gen specifications section for unit dimensions and weight.
• Because an E-Gen can weigh between 1050kg and 2050kg, it is important not to attempt moving the unit by hand.
• Ensure all the panels are securely closed and properly latched to prevent unexpected opening during transportation.
• If the unit will be exposed to the environment during travel, load the unit with the socket side facing away from the direction of travel to prevent rain and/or dust from being driven into the sockets.

Preparing your E-Gen for transport

1. On the control panel side (front) of the unit, open the front door panel by inserting the key into the latches and unlocking, then depressing the latch buttons to release.

2. Lift the front door panel to gain access to the front panel, which contains the control panel switch, control panel, and MCCB switch.

   

3. On the control panel, tap OFF to turn off the inverters.

   

4. Turn the MCCB switch to OFF (O).

   

5. Turn the system power switch to OFF (O).

   

6. On the connection side (rear) of the unit, press the emergency stop button to engage.

   

7. Remove all input and output cables.

   

8. Remove the earth connection.

   

9. Inspect the unit for any visible damage (contact CranePower if damage is found).

Loading with a HIAB or crane

The E-Gen Series has been designed to be lifted from the single lifting eyelet at the top of the unit. Keep the unit level at all times during lifting.
