• 5mm Allen key or hex drive
• 8mm socket and ratchet

Before you start

Replacing the E-Gen control panel will cause settings to be returned to the defaults. We recommend taking a photo or making note of your current settings to be used as a reference for configuring the new control panel later. To do this, tap the Settings icon on the control panel.

Isolating your E-Gen

Before the control panel can be accessed for replacement, your E-Gen must be isolated to ensure it is safe to work on.

Powering off your E-Gen

1. On the control panel side (front) of the unit, open the front door panel by inserting the key into the latches and unlocking, then depressing the latch buttons to release.

2. Lift the front door panel to gain access to the front panel, which contains the control panel switch, control panel, and MCCB switch.

   

3. Open the MCCB by turning the switch to OFF (O).

4. On the control panel, turn off the inverters by tapping OFF on the Home page.

   

5. Then, turn the system power switch to OFF (O).

6. On the connection side (rear), remove the single-phase or three-phase input cable.

7. Remove all output cables.

Removing the Manual Service Disconnect (MSD) fuse(s)

1. On the connection side (rear) of the unit, remove the rear panel by inserting the key into the latches and unlocking, then depressing the latch buttons to release.

2. Keep a hold of the rear panel as it fully detaches from the chassis, pulling toward you to remove.

3. Identify the filter vent to gain access to the MSD fuse(s):

   • The E-Gen150 and E-Gen300 have a single filter vent.
   • For the E-Gen600, the MSD fuses can be accessed through the right filter vent.

   

4. Locate and loosen the four (4) Phillips-head screws securing the filter vent, then carefully lift out both the filter vent and the filter.

5. Identify the MSD fuse(s) attached to the Battery Management System (BMS):

   • E-Gen150 and E-Gen300 have a single MSD fuse.
   • E-Gen600 has two (2) MSD fuses.

6. Pull the locking collar to unlock the MSD fuse(s):

   • On the E-Gen150 and E-Gen300, pull the locking collar toward you from the right side of the MSD fuse, then slide it to the left to unlock.
   • On the E-Gen600, pull the locking collar toward you from underneath the MSD fuses, then slide upwards to unlock.

   

7. Pull the MSD fuse(s) straight out toward you and place on top of the unit with the connectors pointing upward.

   <aside> ❗

   Ensure that the MSD fuse connectors remain clean and are not damaged while removed from the unit.

   </aside>

Once completed, the unit is now isolated.

Removing the existing control panel

1. On the control panel side (front) of the unit, locate and remove the three (3) M5 Dome bolts on the left of the front panel and swing to open.

   

2. Disconnect the seven (7) green connectors from the rear of the control panel by depressing the two (2) orange levels on each connector, then slide out.

   

3. At the top of the control panel rear, disconnect the RJ45 ethernet cable by depressing the connector clip and sliding upward.

   <aside> ❗

   The four (4) white connectors at the left of the control panel rear are NOT required to be removed during this process.

   </aside>

4. Locate and remove the eight (8) M5 nyloc nuts from the control panel studs.

   • If present, ensure that the protector cap is removed from the bottom middle nut and stored securely for reinstallation.
   • When removing the final nut, hold the control panel in-place from the front to ensure it does not fall out. If the screen is still secured in place, you can push on one or more of the control panel studs to help remove it from the front panel.

   

Installing the new control panel

1. Insert the new control panel into the front panel and hold it in-place as you finger tighten the eight (8) M5 nyloc nuts onto the control panel studs.

2. Fasten the eight (8) M5 nyloc nuts onto the control panel studs until the foam gasket on the control panel is making secure contact with the front panel.

3. If present, reinstall the protector cap over the bottom middle nut to prevent cable interference.

   

4. At the top of the control panel rear, connect the RJ45 ethernet cable.
