Before installing the generator, ensure the E-Gen input charge power is set to not exceed 80% of the generators max output.

Any generator can be used as the power input for your E-Gen when a mains supply is not available. E-Gen supports remote start functionality and manual generator supply.

With generator mode enabled, your E-Gen can automatically turn on an attached generator when the battery is depleted below a set State of Charge (SoC). It will charge until it reaches a set SoC before shutting off the generator.

To use generator mode, the attached generator must support remote start functionality. The E-Gen series provides a 2-wire clean contact output to control the generator; the contacts are closed to run the generator and opened to stop it.
For generators that do not support remote start functionality, refer to the Attaching a non-remote start capable generator section.

Measure the distance between the remote start-capable generator and the E-Gen.
Route your cable, avoiding high-traffic areas and using cable protectors to eliminate trip hazards.
On the E-Gen side of the cable, strip the insulation and terminate two wires using 1.0mm2 ferrules.
Insert and secure these terminated wires into pins 1 and 2 on the supplied remote start plug.

Identify the remote/auto start port on the generator control panel and refer to your generators user manual to ensure the plug orientation is correct before connecting.
Connect the remote start plug into the remote start socket on the E-Gen.

Connect the input cable from the generator to the E-Gen.
On the control panel side (front) of the unit, open the front door panel by inserting the key into the latches and unlocking, then depressing the latch buttons to release.
Lift the front door panel to gain access to the front panel, which contains the control panel switch, control panel, and MCCB switch.

Turn the system power switch to ON (I).

On the control panel, tap the Settings icon.
Tap the Generator Mode toggle to turn on.
